Lovely

“What’s up girl?” Tiny sat beside me at the lunch table. Today’s meal was spam, apple sauce, and string beans.

“Hey.” I replied with no enthusiasm, I just stared at the odd food combination.

“You look upset.” She noticed.

“I think Maine is cheating on me.” I murmured.

“Lovely stop it.” She laughed but I was serious. Since his last visit, shit has been different between us.

“On the phone he always sounds preoccupied like his mind is on something else.” I admitted.

“Bitch his mind is on something else and that something is getting you out of this god-forsaken place. Don’t let the devil get the best of you. Maine loves you and is out there pounding the pavement trying to get you out.” My friend declared and I knew she was right. My mind was definitely playing tricks on me.

“I get out of here soon and if it makes you feel better I’ll do some snooping and send word back to you.”

“Thanks Tiny.” Knowing that I had an ally on the outside put my mind at rest. If anybody could get the job done, it would be Tiny.

“No need for saying thank you because if I find out he slippin’ I’m going to be right back in this bitch for having your man executed.” She laughed.

“Don’t do that because my baby won’t have anywhere to go.” I joked.

“Well maybe I’ll just cut his dick off instead.”

“Yeah that’s a good idea. He has no need for it while I’m in here anyway.” We both laughed.
